What We Believe
At North Church, everything we believe is centered on Jesus Christ and the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit. Our heart is not only that you know what we believe, but that you encounter the God who makes these truths real and personal.
And while these are the truths we hold to, we want you to know this: everyone is welcome here. Whether you already share these beliefs, are still exploring faith, or even see things differently, you’ll find a safe place at North Church to ask questions, experience God’s love, and belong to a community that cares about you.
Here’s a simple overview of our faith:
1. The Scriptures Inspired
We believe the Bible is God’s Word — alive, trustworthy, and our guide for life and faith.
2. The One True God
We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. The Deity of Jesus Christ
Jesus is the eternal Son of God. He came to earth, fully God and fully man, to bring us salvation.
4. Humanity’s Fall and Need for a Savior
Every one of us has sinned, but God made a way for us to be forgiven through Jesus.
5. Salvation Through Christ Alone
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus — not by our works, but by His finished work on the cross.
6. The Ordinances of the Church
We practice Water Baptism (after salvation) and Holy Communion (open to all believers).
7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
God empowers believers through the baptism in the Holy Spirit, giving gifts to boldly live and share the Gospel.
8. The Evidence of the Spirit-Filled Life
The Spirit helps us grow in Christlike character and gives us gifts — including speaking in tongues as an initial physical evidence.
9. Sanctification
We believe God calls us to live holy lives, set apart for His purposes, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
10. The Church and Its Mission
The Church is God’s family on earth, called to worship, disciple, serve, and share the good news of Jesus locally and globally.
11. The Ministry
God raises up pastors, teachers, evangelists, missionaries, and leaders to equip His people for service.
12. Divine Healing
We believe Jesus still heals today — in body, soul, and spirit — as part of the Gospel message.
13. The Blessed Hope
Jesus is coming again to gather His people, and we look forward with joy to that day.
14. The Millennial Reign of Christ
We believe Jesus will return to reign on earth in justice, peace, and truth.
15. The Final Judgment
Every person will stand before God. Those who have received Christ will be welcomed into eternal life.
16. The New Heavens and the New Earth
God will make all things new — a place where righteousness dwells, and His people will live with Him forever.
