Hello everyone, my name is Makala! I so look forward to getting to know you and your family! I hope you have experienced God in a supernatural way here at North Church! Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Makala Wells, and I serve as the Children’s Pastor at North Church. I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and lived there until I was 18. I have been in the Kentuckiana area for about 5 years. I am the oldest of 3 kids; my family means so much to me. Here’s a fun fact about me: I love reading and love the summer! I love where I live and the people God has placed in my life here, but I sure do miss my family and those Rocky Mountains! If you ever have the opportunity to travel west, you have to go to Utah!
I grew up in a Christian home. I consider myself blessed to have grown up with amazing parents in a home that was centered around God. I know many don’t experience life as I was blessed to experience. I gave my life to the Lord at six years old and was baptized at ten years old. Then I experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit at church summer camp at 12. I was actively involved in the children’s ministry and youth group at my church in Salt Lake. That is where my love for ministry grew. I knew I had a calling on my life when God gave me my miracle, and he healed me of a tumor that was found in my mouth. God then confirmed the calling when he called me to move to Kentucky to attend a ministry school called Master’s Commission. I did Master’s Commission for two years, learning and growing in my walk with the Lord. After being in ministry school, the door opened for me to live out my dream as a Children’s Pastor. Pastor John learned of my love for kids and my dream of being a pastor, and it so happened that they needed a children’s pastor. I have been honored to serve as the children’s pastor since April of 2021. I have loved watching the ministry grow and watching each of the children grow in their walk with the Lord. I cannot wait to see what the Lord will do in these kids’ lives. He has big plans for them, and I am blessed to be a part of their story!
