[Jas 5:16 NASB95] The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

  • Using prayer guides are a proven way to enhance a person’s prayer life.
  • This prayer guide is similar in structure to the Lords’ Prayer. Use this prayer guide to change up your prayer life.
  • Commit to praying everyday. Set a time to pray. Show up.
  • It is good to get alone. Play worship music, if desired. You can walk, kneel, sit or lay down.
  1. Consecration—A Pure Heart Before God

Scripture: [Psa 139:23 NASB95] 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts;

Prayer Focus: Begin each time of prayer with self-examination and surrender. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal and remove any sin or hindrance. Yield to God’s refining fire.

  1. Worship—Exalting God First

Scripture: [Psa 100:4 NASB95] 4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving [And] His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

Prayer Focus: Open your prayer time with heartfelt praise. Thank Him for who He is and for what He’s done. Worship shifts the atmosphere and your perspective.

  1. God’s Will—Praying Heaven to Earth

Scripture: [Mat 6:10 NASB95] ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.

Prayer Focus: Declare God’s plans over your life, family, and church. Surrender personal desires and align with His purpose. Speak the promises of God into your situation.

  1. Provision—Trusting God for Needs

Scripture: [Mat 6:11 NASB95] 11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread.

Prayer Focus: Bring your needs before God. Trust Him as Yahweh Jireh, your Provider. Pray for money, materials, and methods. Call it in. Bind the devil. Loose angels. Thank God in advance.

  1. Intercession—Standing in the Gap

Scripture: [Eze 22:30 NASB95] 30 “I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.

Prayer Focus: Call out names of family members, friends, and leaders. Intercede for salvation, healing, revival, and breakthrough. Let the Spirit lead you to who needs covering today.

  1. Healing— Spirit, Soul, and Body

Scripture: [Mat 8:17 NASB95] 17 [This was] to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: “HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES.”

Prayer Focus: Pray for physical healing, mental restoration, and emotional peace. Declare scriptures over sickness and receive Christ’s finished work on the Cross. Say, “Jesus heals me now.”

  1. Spiritual Warfare—Victory in Jesus’ Name

Scripture: [2Co 10:4 NASB95] 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.

Prayer Focus: Take authority over the enemy. Bind confusion, fear, temptation, and division. Loose the power of the Holy Spirit in your life and home.

  1. The Lost—Souls for the Kingdom

Scripture: [2Pe 3:9 NASB95] 9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Prayer Focus: Call out by name those who are far from God. Pray for their hearts to be softened and for divine encounters. Ask God to send laborers into their path.

  1. Revival—In You, Your Church, and the Nation

Scripture: [Psa 85:6 NASB95] 6 Will You not Yourself revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You?

Prayer Focus: Cry out for a move of the Holy Spirit. Pray for fire to fall in your church, your city, and your generation. Believe for signs, wonders, and awakening.

  1. Holy Spirit—Power and Presence

Scripture: [Act 1:8 NASB95] 8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

Prayer Focus: Invite the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh. Ask for power to witness, gifts to operate, and boldness to live set apart. Welcome His presence to lead and speak.

Ten Greatest Needs: Be specific.

[Mar 10:51 NASB95] 51 And answering him, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

[Jhn 15:7 NASB95] 7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
