Hannah Sparkman

My name is Hannah Sparkman, and I married my best friend, Grant, on December 19, 2021. Together we have two amazing (feral) boys, Kassius and Theodore. A couple random facts about me: I love reading! I specifically like reading fantasy novels (Brandon Sanderson is my favorite) but I just enjoy a good story! My favorite food is carne asada fries, specifically those from a food truck in Tulsa called Doña Gloria Tacos. My favorite taco truck I’ve been to BY FAR.

I am an Oral Roberts University grad with a BA in Communication and a minor in missions. Despite being a pastor’s kid, my faith became my own during my time at ORU. I was able to have my beliefs tested in a way that I had not yet experienced while also being trained on how to research the word of God for myself. In addition to getting my education, I met my husband through ORU so I definitely look at my time there with rose colored glasses.

As one of Dr. John and Pastor Erin Carmichael’s children, I have spent the majority of my life in the Kentuckiana area but experienced my first big transition when I moved to Tulsa for school. While in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I was a student chaplain at ORU as well as worked with John 3:16 Mission in their Youth and Family Center. After graduating in 2021, I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where I worked for OC International as the Recruitment Admin. After 8 years of living elsewhere, God called our family back to Indiana in the Summer of ‘24 and we are honored to join the ministry of North Church.

Spoken as someone who has grown up at North, I can honestly say that I am passionate about the mission and vision of North Church. While I understand that it would be easy to assume that my words are seasoned with nepotism, I have never served under a minister that I respect more than Dr. John and Pastor Erin. Being able to couple with them in ministry by providing the church with administrative support is something that I am thankful the Lord has given me the opportunity to participate in for a second time.
