I was raised in a Christian home and got saved and baptized as a young boy. I was Spirit Baptized at the age of 14 in a revival meeting while worshipping. I felt a large hand touch my head, opened my eyes to see who it was, saw no person, still felt the hand and was immediately filled with the power of God. I was called to the ministry at age 17, when in another revival, the evangelist called me up, told me God had a work for me to do for Him and that I was anointed to preach the Gospel. He then poured a bottle of anointing oil over me, and I have served the Lord ever since in many roles. I am married to Mary Rodgers, and we have a teenage son named Royce. We have been married for over 20 years and serve the Lord together as a family.
My first pastoral role was as a youth leader in a church in Arkansas. My next role was as a Royal Ranger commander, a role I served in for over 20 years. I was a board member and financial officer for a Church as well.
With my wife Mary Rodgers (Worship Pastor), I and our family came to North Church in the spring of 2014. My wife and I served with the children’s ministry as teachers, where we developed a Royal Rangers and Missionettes Ministry. We also served as the Jail Ministry Pastors to the Clark County Jail. We served as the Children’s pastors for a season, and I now serve as Gatekeepers pastor over the ushers, greeters, and security teams and as the Men’s Ministry pastor. The Gatekeepers are the physical extension of the Pastors to the church during services. We guide folks to the sanctuary, provide relevant information about each service, help in the active service, and provide a safe environment for all ministry around the church.
The Men’s Ministry’s is where we lead the men of North Church into a fuller relationship with Christ and each other through every other month meetings or events and B-groups (small groups) that provide fellowship, discipleship, and deep connection to grow the kingdom of God for the Glory of Jesus Christ.
I look forward to faithfully serving the Lord for many years, as He leads, to build His church until Jesus returns or I go to Him.
